Styles of Baby Carriers

Babies are like sweet angels - cuddly, cute, delicate. But any mother or those who cared for infants know that even though they are fragile looking, the task of carrying those babies for a long period of time can be stressful. Moreso if you're going to travel with them!

Good things that baby carriers were invented. They help you carry (and wear) your baby without putting up with too much stress.

There are various styles of baby carriers.  An example would be the back pack style which, like the name suggests, is placed on your back like a back pack bag. Dads usually use this kind of baby carrier and it's ideal for traveling and outdoor activities.

Another style of baby carrier is the wraps which is tied around your body and it holds your baby in place as they snuggle close to your body.

A popular (if not the most popular) style of baby carriers is the front packs. It's like a bag worn in front with padded shoulder pads and waist bands.

Newborn babies to those of toddler age are often carried using the pouches. This style of baby carrier consists of a simple tube of fabric that you place over one shoulder - after which, you can settle the baby in.

Other styles include ring slings, hip carriers, frame back packs and mei tais. There are probably more styles which are just variant of the styles mentioned above.

Baby carriers are great especially for those outdoors baby activities but make sure that what you'll be using fits your baby's age, weight and capabilities (like head and neck control, etc.).

Things To Consider When Planning for a Baby Shower

There are various things to take into consideration when planning for a baby shower. If you're planning one, here are some of the things that you have to consider when planning for a baby shower (not necessarily in order):

1. Theme

You can choose the theme or ask the mother-to-be of her preferences. The theme will be important since it affects most of the other considerations mentioned below like invitations, food and beverages and venue.

2. Date

Usually, baby showers are given four to six weeks prior to the baby's due date. You should try to consider the schedules of the people and friends who will be attending the baby shower and try to find a date where as much people can be as available to attend the party.

3. Invitations

There are a lot of baby shower invitations that you can find online but try to find one which matches the theme of your party. Try to send the invitation weeks in advance so that those invited can squeeze in the event to their schedule.

4. Food and Beverages

Don't forget the food and beverages because no party will be complete without it. Sandwiches, burgers, juice, soft drinks and some finger foods come in handy although it really depends on your party's theme, budget and time. Just don't forget the cake!

5. Venue

You can decorate the venue according to the theme that you picked. You can do it in the mother-to-be's house, your home or another venue where you can accommodate the number of guests that you're anticipating to come.

6. Budget

It is important to always consider your budget because everything boils down to this one. Work according to your budget.

7. Party Favors

Don't forget the party favors for the guests. It will make this party memorable for all those who attended. You can even include the thank you notes in the party favors themselves - two birds in one stone.

Baby 2GO

The cutest bundle of joy is without a doubt, a baby. With this kind of joy comes serious responsibility, though, towards the baby and the family. Thus taking care of the little one while providing for the family basic needs entails provision for baby care, like a baby carrier.

Whoever invented the baby carrier has his invention adapted in all corners of the globe from generation to generation. The type may vary from one culture to the other but the purpose remains the same.

A baby sling is another provision for baby care wherein wearer could take baby along while doing some needed activity like shopping. Baby slings remind me of colorful fabric used by native women in an Asian country I visited. The cloth is sewn together or knotted securely and worn around the neck. The baby is placed inside the cloth. This cloth can also be turned into something like a hammock. Tied at one end and attached to a sturdy beam of the house, the cloth can be gently rocked to and fro, lulling the little one to sleep.

I get to attend a baby shower every so often. Since I do double jobs I find it practical to purchase baby items during a store sale. I buy an assortment of baby clothes and toys, to baby carriers, ring slings and sturdy colorful fabrics which could be turned into baby slings.

After all, I come from a large family. A baby is expected every now and then.
